Senior EMR Application Analyst Job Description

Philadelphia FIGHT Community Health Centers provide culturally competent comprehensive primary care, and state of the art HIV primary care to low income members of the community, along with research, consumer education, advocacy, social services and outreach to people living with HIV and those who are at high risk, including family members, communities with high rates of HIV, formerly incarcerated persons, and young people at risk; and access to the most advanced clinical research in HIV treatment and prevention.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior EMR Application Analyst to join our dynamic ITClinical App team. The Senior EMR Application Analyst will play a critical role in the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of our electronic medical records system and clinical ancillary applications. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze user needs, customize system configurations, and ensure the seamless integration of EMR solutions into our healthcare environment.

Qualifications: The Senior EMR Application Analyst will have strong technical knowledge with major EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, or Meditech. Proficiency with our current EMR platform eCW is preferred, not required. An associate degree in healthcare informatics, computer science, or related field; Bachelor's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in healthcare IT, with a focus on electronic medical record systems is strongly preferred. Other qualifications include:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate user requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and different levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading EMR implementation projects from planning through deployment.
  • Certifications such as eCW certification(s, (Train the trainer and PM) or HIMSS certification(s) preferred.
  • Technical and management knowledge of databases, example SQL, Oracle and MySQL is a plus, but not required
  • Have a basic understanding and knowledge of MSFT Server platforms are recommended, but not required

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the technical implementation, configuration and support of the electronic medical records system, eCW, including our clinical informatic applications such as CareWare, i2i, RedCap and similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders and management to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and design EMR and informatic solutions that meet the needs of clinical and QAQI teams.
  • Customize EMR system settings, templates, and interfaces to optimize functionality and usability.
  • Monitor and ensure that EMR support tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system specifications, user guides, and training materials.
  • Conduct and schedule in-house training sessions on eCW for clinical staff
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of EMR data.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to electronic medical records.
  • Serves on committees as needed to gather information relative to the needs of the organization.
  • Solicits ongoing expert input and end user feedback on workflows, HIPAA compliance, and system maintenance.
  • Creates documentation related to workflow or system changes in collaboration with the business and end users.
  • Produces professional quality project artifacts, including but not limited to, business requirement documents, workflows, requirement plans, models (e.g., data, event, context, and process), traceability matrices, use cases, issue logs, training materials, and other documents as needed
  • Plans and is the technical lead on all major system updates as well as creates and maintains core system test plans.
  • Collaborate with Health Center leadership on workflow optimization, training, and other support related matters.

Other: Initial probationary period is three months.

Work hours: 40 Hours/Week (M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm)
