Blenheim-Newport, offering assisted living and memory care, is seeking a caring and organized Nursing Director who is devoted to providing quality care to seniors!



Job Responsibilities


As a Director of Nursing for Benchmark Senior Living, you will be responsible for the quality of resident care at your community. You'll oversee assessments, service plans and the coordination of care for the residents. In addition, you'll ensure regulatory and policy compliance as well as quality assurance and improvement opportunities. The Director of Nursing will also be responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of the nurses and CNA staff and oversee scheduling and staffing patterns.




Additional responsibilities include:

• Communicating with families and friends of residents
• Assuring compliance with all resident care related regulations (e.g., medication management)
• Documenting and providing accurate record-keeping, as appropriate
• Demonstrating personal/resident safety methods and procedures
• Taking corrective action and disciplining employees in writing, if necessary
• Representing Benchmark Senior Living with pride and knowledge so as to educate outside groups and organizations
  
  
  As a Director of Nursing for Benchmark Senior Living, you must be approachable as well as flexible and professional with your staff, residents and family members. You must also demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Benchmark Standards and Practices before assuming your position as Director of Nursing.

  Additional requirements of the Director of Nursing include:
  
  
• Being a Registered Nurse, per state regulations; Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a care setting; Assisted Living/Home Care or Hospice setting experience a plus
• Certified in Gerontology through the American Nurses Credentialing Association a plus
• Knowledge of Dementia care a plus
• Ability to lift 50 pounds individually
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
